About Us
Weavewell was established in 1994 to manufacture high quality woven narrow fabrics for the local and export markets. The business was started by the late Roger Bowring, a qualified textile technologist with many years’ experience in weaving and dyeing. He set-up strict quality control procedures which have been maintained by the second generation who now manage the company.
Adrian Bowring, and his sister Claire Dellbridge the General Managers, descend from a long line of weavers going back over 4 generations. They have grown the business and maintained the high quality standards and excellent customer service for which Weavewell has always been known.
Weavewell is family-owned and is supported by a dedicated team with many years experience in the textile industry.
Services
A wide range of quality products are available ex stock, including Luxurious Packaging Ribbon, Striped and Plain Petersham Ribbon, Satin Ribbon in a rainbow of various shades, together with Cotton and Polyester Tapes and Webbings used in many industries.
Products not available ex stock, can be woven or dyed to order. If you have a woven sample of a product you are trying to source, Weavewell can analyse it and quote you to manufacture. They also specialise in High Tenacity Polyester Industrial Webbings which can be manufactured to customers’ specifications with regard to breaking strains.
Weavewell prides itself in offering reliable and efficient turnaround times, just one of the reasons they have remained for over 27 years in a challenging South African industry.
Technology
Weavewells’ philosophy is to continually invest in new technology and equipment in order to keep up to date with international trends and to be competitive.
In-house production processes include yarn dyeing, winding, warping, weaving, continuous dyeing, finishing, and rolling. Machinery used is of the highest quality, having been manufactured in Switzerland, Germany or Italy and maintenance is carried out in-house, on a regular basis, by its own staff.
They offer a wide range of standard colours, combined with a full colour matching laboratory.
Community Service
Weavewell is committed to assisting Charities and Upliftment projects, in under privileged areas, with donations of woven products.
These woven tapes, ribbons and webbings are then used in the make-up of clothing, bags, table mats etc., which generates much needed funds to assist disadvantaged communities.
Crèches and schools make use of donated ribbon in many ways e.g. arts and crafts, demarcating areas for activities, sports sashes, medals etc.
Weavewell is very involved in the setting up of an Improvement District in order to upgrade the industrial area they are situated in.
